GRAVIS SHOES DROP AT UI

We're just about to add another cool new brand to Urban Industry Gravis Shoes..should be instock tomorrow! Gravis have been around for a few years now and we reckon they're hitting top form with this range of shoes.

They've been massive in Japan and the US for quite some time and it won't be long before they really make a proper impact here. Gravis have some great designs, have some cool artist collaborations (NY Graf artist, Stash for one, next year) and have the price just right..Gravis is a slightly more grown up shoe, very comfortable, not overtly skatey and a lot of smarter shoes in the range that still have a streetwear spin.

The range we have in now is a winter 05 injection before our main spring 06 drop in jan/feb 06...Come jan/feb 06 we'll also have in the unbeatable Gravis bags range...great backpacks, travel luggage and womens handbags...stay tuned for that lot!

GRAVIS SHOES - THE COLLECTIVE

We thought you might like to see these very special shoes from Gravis, not only as they are cool, but also as we are about to receive our first batch of Gravis for the Urban Industry Store with Gravis Bags arriving Spring 06...check this very limited, special collaboration shoes..they are going up for sale soon after the shows but the chances of laying your hands on a pair is going to be small!!

For the Feb 05 Manchester urban fashion trade show The Park, once again working closely with Gravis on specific art collaborations, created the Gravis lounge where three 2m sq canvases, one each from Delta, Marok and Matt Sewell were especially commissioned and profiled for the show.

The canvases were special but this was only the first stage of 'The Collective' project.

The canvases have since been skilfully cut up and integrated to be part of 36 pairs of Limited Edition Art-Bred Gravis Comet Mid shoes. The shoes will be launched at the Bread & Butter trade show, July 05 and then will be brought back to their spiritual home at the Park's August shows. It will be during these shows in the Gravis Collective Lounge where the next stage of the project will take place!!!! Keep your eyes peeled!!! In the mean time here's a sneaky look!

Artists' Biographies

Marok
Native to Berlin, Marok is the grand name in urban graphics. As Art Director and Publisher of cult magazine Lodown, Marok's influences come straight from his environment, having lived and breathed skateboarding, music and art for the past decade. His visual illustration and view on urban sub-culture is recorded in the cult books: 'Lodown Graphic Engineering' (1998) and 'Schizophrenic: Lodown Graphic Engineering Part II' (2000) and revealed through key collaborations with street brands Gravis Footwear & es skate shoes, amongst other musical and visual projects. Marok is the individual push and drive of the underground urban art scene.

Delta
Pioneering European graffiti art since the '80s, Delta's work is immediately recognized by its three-dimensional forms and linear graphic symmetry. Expressing ideas using canvas & collage, murals & motion graphic, sculpture & graphic design, Delta's arresting style has secured a long list of 'cool brand' clients, including Calvin Klein, Stussy, Warp Records & Nike. The extensive scope of his work confirms Delta's position at the forefront of contemporary creative culture, as he continues to break new ground within different artistic channels.
